It was the last night of April when I decided to give my clubs a good cleaning. I even washed the white MCC grips, even though I they have only been on for less than a month (logo down). I wanted everything to be “cleansed”, so to speak, going into May.
The next day, May 1st, 2021, just 15th days after my 30th birthday, at Itasca Country Club, Hole 17, I obtained the ever elusive, first HOLE-IN-ONE!
Hole 17 at ICC is a short, but tricky Par 3. It plays steep uphill into the most undulating green on the course. This day it was playing 125 to a front left pin and into a stiff crosswind. I went with a 9 iron, no tee. The new grips felt great. Ever since I switched back to standards I have had so much more control of the club. I knew the exact, feel I wanted to hit - a little dead handed, 75% 9 iron was the shot. It was right on line. Hit top shelf, landed soft, and trickled back down the slope and IN TO THE CUP!!!!
We were going so wild you would have thought we caught a game winning touchdown in the Super Bowl. Chest bumps. High fives. The commotion was real.
It was an amazing moment and I am so happy and proud to have Golf Pride MCC’s on my clubs. They have truly been a game changer and I am looking forward to celebrating my next accomplishment.
Thank you Golf Pride for making such great products!!!
