Athlete Spotlight: Tiffany Mack Fitzgerald
As a woman in corporate America, Tiffany Mack Fitzgerald noticed that a lot of business was done on the golf course instead of the office. In efforts to join the company culture, she decided to buy a starter set and join the team on the next corporate outing. Now, Tiffany is doing more than just enjoying the game. Through her organization, Black Girls Golf, Tiffany hopes to inspire females of all ages to join the game.
“I wanted to make sure that other women did not have the experience I had learning to play golf. The intimidation factor, the lack of knowledge around the rules and etiquette. I wanted to make sure that onboarding into the game was fun, welcoming and easy.”
Tiffany focuses on creating inclusivity and is devoted to helping Black females enter the game with confidence.
The Black Girls Golf organization has reached thousands of golfers across the United States. When asked what other females could expect if they decided to participate in Black Girls Golf, Tiffany replies.
“Women are able to connect with other women who play or are learning to play. And I think having someone who understands where you are on your golf journey helps you stick with it.”

“For me, it’s more about creating a space. And although I don’t represent all Black women or all Black women who play golf, for that matter, I think that what I do represent is a voice to say that there is a thirst for the game, a want, a need for Black women to learn. We want a seat at the table. Me being there is just making room and making space.”
While the Black Girls Golf organization has introduced the game to many women all over the country, Tiffany sees an even bigger future for the organization.
“5 to 10 years from now, I would love for Black Girls Golf to be a household name. I would love for Black women who want to learn, practice or play golf to be able to look us up, find us in any city, and have a community that will help them get into the game or have more fun playing.”
